The Khaleejesque team was invited to attend an exclusive event to meet legendary Manchester United goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel at the Kuwait Car Museum. We were excited to meet the veteran footballer who was voted 'World's Best Goal Keeper' in 1992 and 1993. He also captained Manchester United to a treble winning season in 1999, which is still remembered to this day. Schmeichel and his Denmark side also won the Euro in 1992.
Peter Schmeichel is an ambassador for Manchester United and was the man of the hour. He was given a tour through the illustrious car museum filled with spectacular cars from the 1950 Dodge Cornet to a 1956 Rolls Royce to the stunning Aston Martin DB4 and even the Aston Martin DBS used in Casino Royale!
There was a Q&A session at the end of the event and here are some of the questions asked by the excited fans:
Q: What was your best Manchester United moment?
A: My best Manchester United moment was signing my first contract with all the great players.
Q: Who was the funniest player/joker in the Manchester United squad who used to play all the pranks?
A: Well, I played for many years so it depends where and when, but whatever happens in the dressing room, stays in the dressing room.
Q: Who was the most fearful striker you played against?
A: I never played anyone who I feared. I was very lucky to play in good teams all the way throughout my career. We played against good teams and good players.
Q: Who do you think is the best goalkeeper of this era?
A: Absolutely no doubt in my mind, it's Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich.
Q: Do you think Cristiano Ronaldo will come back to Manchester United?
A: Well nobody knows. There's a lot of news about it. No one is denying it and Ronaldo's saying he wants to come back and Sir Alex wants him to come back so let's wait and see.
