Napket is one of the most exquisite eateries in Kuwait; it has a sophisticated and elegant interior but such a warm and inviting atmosphere. When it comes to the food, Napket has always maintained a specific standard; high quality, fresh and delicious.

We had the opportunity to test drive their new menu last week (not including the Burger Revolution Menu – but more on that soon).

Assortment of Breads
Chicken Skewers

We started with the appetizers of course; Chicken Skewers, Panko Shrimps and Butternut Squash Ravioli. The Chicken Skewers are marinated in rosemary and yogurt before being grilled. They turned out very tender, light and delicious. Perfect for the healthy eater.

The Panko-crusted Shrimps were large and juicy with a perfectly crisp outer layer. They came accompanied with a cherry ginger dip. We didn't care much for the sauce; a spicy one would have made a better pairing.

Quite the delicious treat was the Butternut Squash Ravioli. The ravioli was filled with a creamy roasted butternut squash puree and topped with a sage brown butter sauce with parmesan. The blend of flavors was absolutely great.

Artisanal Pizza Francaise

For the entrees we had the Artisanal Pizza Française, Pasta with Basil Pesto Sauce and Shrimp Medley. The pizza was absolutely divine. Not your average pizza, this one is topped with Emmentale cheese, caramelized onions, fresh thyme, and garlic butter. The dough is light and thin, the cheese is tangy and the caramelized onions give it a touch of sweetness.

The Basil Pesto Pasta was really decadent. Covered in a fresh creamy basil pesto sauce, topped with grilled chicken strips and parmesan, it was very rich in flavor. Word to the wise: this is not a light pasta dish; a must for creamy pasta lovers.

Lastly, we had the Shrimp Medley; Shrimp baked in olive oil and grilled rosemary shrimp with herbed rice. The grilled shrimp was very light, and so was the rice. It's great for people who like light, healthy dishes. The baked shrimp was full of flavor, but needed to be cooked longer to gain the perfect pink color.

To end on a high note, we ordered the Red Velvet Cheesecake and the M Chocolate Cake. The cheesecake is unlike any we've tried before. It doesn't taste like a traditional Red Velvet cake; more like a berry cheesecake. It comes with an Oreo crust, is drizzled with a berry sauce and sprinkled with berries on top. The sauce gives it tartness, and the crust adds a touch of chocolate flavor. A favorite at the table!

Finally, for all chocolate lovers, there's the M Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream. Served in a deep dish, it's a cross between a molten cake and a soufflé. Once you pierce it in the middle, you get a gooey creamy chocolate filling. Delightful.

Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to try the Pain Perdue, as it takes 45 minutes to prepare.
