Khaled AlKhamissi is a novelist, TV producer, and former publisher. He graduated in Political Science from the Sorbonne in Paris, where he wrote his PHD on "The economic dimension in the Egyptian foreign policy towards the USA during Mubarak's first presidency". He has previously worked as a journalist at Al Ahram in Paris before setting up his own publishing house. He is chairman and CEO of Nile for Cultural and Media Production. He is the author of two novels: Taxi, which has been translated into ten languages and Noah’s Ark. He lives in Egypt.

أصدرت دار بلومزبري – مؤسسة قطر للنشر طبعة جديدة من كتاب خالد الخميسي "تاكسي" في ترجمة إنجليزية جديدة ومحسنة وتحتوي على فصل جديد كتبه المؤلف بعد الثورة.
لاقى "تاكسي" نجاحًا نقديًا وجماهيريًا كبيرًا وغير متوقع عندما صدر عام 2007 وطبع أكثر من 15 طبعة، وأثنى عليه الكثير من الكتاب والنقاد، واستضافت مؤلفه عدد من البرامج التلفزيونية مثل العاشرة مساء والبيت بيتك والقاهرة اليوم، ووصفه د. عبد الوهاب المسيري بأنه "عمل إبداعي أصيل ومتعة فكرية حقيقية"، كما قال عنه د. جلال أمين أنه من أجمل ما قرأ من كتب في وصف المجتمع المصري وكتب عنه صفحة كاملة بجريدة المصري اليوم.

وقد لاقى "تاكسي" نجاحًا في الترجمة أيضا، فترجم إلى عشر لغات وطبع بالإنجليزية ثلاث مرات في مصر والمملكة المتحدة. وبعد نفاد الطبعات السابقة تعاقد المؤلف مع دار بلومزبري – مؤسسة قطر للنشر لإصدار طبعة الإنجليزية جديدة. وقام المترجم جوناثان رايت والمدير السابق لمكتب رويتز بالقاهرة بعمل تعديلات كبيرة على الترجمة لتحسينها، كما كتب المؤلف فصلا جديدًا يتناول فيه مصر بعد الثورة.
المؤلف خالد الخميسي حاصل على ماجستير في العلوم السياسية من جامعة السوربون حول موضوع "البعد الاقتصادي في السياسة الخارجية المصرية تجاه الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية خلال فترة الرئاسة الأولى لمبارك"، وهو منتج ومخرج وكاتب سيناريو، وله العديد من الدراسات الاجتماعية والسياسية، كما يكتب مقالا أسبوعيًا بجريدة الشروق.
