Don't miss a screening of Irani independent movie Children of Heaven by Majid Majidi on Tuesday 9th April 2013 at Dubai Knowledge Village Conference Centre. The film’s plot centers around:
"Ali and his family live in an impoverished quarter of Tehran. When he accidentally loses his beloved sister's only pair of shoes, the children must devise ways to hide the loss from their parents. They hope the scheme will work long enough to keep Zahra in school until her shoes can be found, but matters get more complicated when Ali is entered in a 4k run."
The film first premiered in February 1997 at the Tehran Fajr Film Festival and was so highly praised and critically acclaimed that it was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1998, making it the first Iranian film to be nominated for an Oscar.
The film will be screened by The Scene Club in association with Dubai International Film Festival.
