This year, Kuwait will be participating for the first time at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, part of The Venice Biennale. The event, which will take place from 29th August to 25th November 2012, is one of the most prestigious art and design exhibitions in the world. This year's exhibition, titled Common Ground, is directed by architect David Chipperfield.

Commissioned by the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCAAL), Kuwait's participation will be entitled "Kethra." The exhibition will be curated by Zahra Ali Baba, and deputy curators Deema AlGhunaim and Ricardo Camacho.

To commemorate this event, NCCAL is holding a 3 day conference to officially introduce Kuwait's participation at a conference titled 'Kuwait: Buildings and Architects.' The conference includes a round table discussion between international guest speakers and local architects.

The Launch Event will take place on July 30th 2012 at AlQiblia School, Kuwait City at 9:00pm.

The Conference will take place from July 31 to August 1, 2012 at AlQiblia School, Kuwait City at 9:00pm.
