Creating a personal and twisted wonderland for the viewer to experience, Saeed Khalifa paints over his images digitally to bend the reality of the image and transport the viewer to a parallel universe. Living in Dubai, Khalifa is inspired by a lot of things, but recently found a strong connection to things that surrounded him during his childhood. His debut solo exhibition was inspired by fairytales and children’s books but with a dark, mature twist. He is the type of artist who relates more to the emotive side of art rather than the theory behind it, “Everything I do, I pour myself into; at the end, I see that every piece I have done is completed to serve a purpose.”
