After the first day’s success, we couldn’t wait to see what Day 2 of Dubai Fashion Week had for us.
Emirati Designer Abeer Al Suwaidi presented her Jamaican-inspired Abaya collection which was an interesting twist to the Abaya design.
Kaftans, Moroccan Jalabiyas, and flowy dresses were the main items of Fatima Al Majid’s El Deseo SS11 collection.
My favorite collection on the 2nd day of DFW would be Meher & Riddhima. Known for their feminine designs, Meher & Riddhima showcased a collection that presented the true colors of Spring/Summer. This collection was dedicated to explorer Amelia Earhart.
Next was Pakistani designer Umar Sayeed whose designs were a cocktail of Pakistani dresses, edgy suits, and a very artistic cashmere cardigan which had Pakistani writings on the long sleeves.
The last show of the evening was Indian designer Vikram Phandis. Vikram’s collection captured the beauty of Indian fabrics. The Dupattas or head covers along with the Saris were inspired by Rajasthani and Mughal fashion.
