Internationally acclaimed German luxury watch makers A. Lange & Söhne opened their Middle Eastern flagship boutique in Dubai, UAE last month.
Located in the Dubai Mall, the store is the brand's second stand-alone boutique in the UAE (their first was in Abu Dhabi, at Etihad Towers). Not only is it the watchmaker's regional flagship store, it is also the world's biggest A. Lange & Söhne store.
The store space encompasses approximately 2,000 square feet, and reflects the essence of A. Lange & Söhne's history and watchmaking craftsmanship.
On opening a store in Dubai, Wilhelm Schmid, CEO of A. Lange & Söhne, said, “Dubai was a natural location for us to choose when selecting a city for our flagship boutique in the Middle East; it is well-recognised for being a business hub as well as an international leisure, tourism and shopping destination.”
The brand dates bake to 1845, when Dresden watchmaker Ferdinand A. Lange established his own manufacturing establishment. To this day, Lange's pocket watches are considered collectibes and are coveted all over the world. In 1990, his great grandson Walter Lange, relaunched the brand to great success. The watchmaker only makes a few thousand wristwatches in gold or platinum per year.
Commenting about venturing into new territories, Schmid said “Expansion in the Middle East is of great importance to us as the region has been developing itself as an increasing market for watch conoisseurs, where technical timepieces are particularly sought after. We are looking forward to continue sharing our constant quest for perfection and level of unmatched craftsmanship not only in our new stores but also with dedicated events for regional watch collectors and international watch enthusiasts.”
To mark the opening of the Dubai Mall boutique, A. Lange & Söhne designed a special edition of the Lange Zeitwerk, with only 30 pieces available exclusively at the seven A. Lange & Söhne boutiques worldwide: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Dresden, Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul and Hong Kong.
