Emirati athlete Amna Al Haddad became the first Emirati Woman and GCC National to participate in the Reebok CrossFit Asia Regionals held in Korea from 4th – 6th May.

The 22 year old weightlifter began her training at the age of 17, and has been involved with Reebok's CrossFit program since April 2011. She trains with Candice Howe, owner of Reebok CrossFit LifeSpark in Dubai, who holds the 2011 title for ‘The Fittest Women in Asia’.

Amna participated in the CrossFit Asia Regionals alongside her fellow Reebok CrossFit LifeSpark Dubai team. The team finished in 3rd place during the Reebok CrossFit Games Open (Feb 22-March 25).

Amna hopes that through her participation in global athletic competitions, she will inspire other women in the region to pursue a more active lifestyle, adding, “I hope that my participation in such a sport will encourage more women to take part and show that it is possible to be in sport and still respect your religion.”
