Opening this season's Fashion Forward Dubai was Saudi designer Arwa Al-Banawi. Having launched her namesake brand in 2015, Arwa quickly became renowned for her expertly tailored suits and androgynous cuts. Smoothly gliding between subtle hues and striking prints, Arwa Al-Banawi's Spring/Summer '17 presentation yet again proved that this designer is here to stay.
Inspired by 60's Cuba, my favorite pieces were a creamy-candy cotton pink two piece suit and the ice-lolly print, which featured both as a separate and two piece suit.
Much of the collection was black and black-white pieces with throwbacks to 60's glamour and nods to a location stuck in time. Splashes of color added a needed break between the dark hues and produced pieces perfect for spring and summer months. The subtlety with which Arwa has sewn her inspiration through the collection has created pieces that will keep their place in any wardrobe for years to come.
