Vogue Arabia, Dubai Design, and Fashion Council (DDFC) announced the ten finalists of the 2016 annual DDFC and Vogue Fashion Prize. The aim of the prize is to showcase the Arab world’s most talented and auspicious fashion designers through their platform.
After receiving over 100 diverse designers from 12 countries around the Arab world, the Selection Committee narrowed the applications down to five ready-to-wear and five accessories final designers:
Daneh (Daneh Buahmed): ready-to-wear
Karoline Lang: ready-to-wear
Mira Hayek: ready-to-wear
Mochi (Ayah Tabari): ready-to-wear
Reemami (Reema Albanna): ready-to-wear
HKD – Hooked (Farah Nasri): accessories (jewelry)
Nathalie Trad: accessories (bags)
Okhtein (Aya and Mounaz Abdelraouf): accessories (bags)
Ralph Masri: accessories (jewelry)
Rula Galayini: accessories (bags)
The name of the winners will be announced during fall, and the lucky winner will receive a production grant, a chance to sell their products globally and exclusively through on Farfetch.com, and retailing from Farfetch’s boutique partners such as Browns in London and Al-Ostoura in Kuwait, along with full media coverage.
