The Khaleeji rock scene was recently given reason to celebrate with the Dubai launch of a collaborative album from Naser Mestarihi and internationally renowned drummer Cobus Potgieter. As Qatar’s first musician to release rock records, we were super excited to learn about Naser’s collaboration with one of YouTube’s top 100 subscribed musicians in the world. The lead single, Prevail, features Potgieter’s fantastic drum skills and original lyrics by the duo.
In a statement, Naser commented, “I am absolutely thrilled to be releasing my second record, especially having the honor of playing with one of my favorite musicians!”
Recorded in Qatar and LA before being engineered in Poland by famed metal producers, the Wieslawski Brothers, the album marks Naser’s second LP. Performing all the instruments on the album aside from the drums, Naser shared production duties with his longtime co-producer, Bader Al-Sada and funded its entire production and release without the aid of a label.
