The grounds of Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai played host to the movers and shakers in the regional fashion industry: fashion bloggers, regional celebrities, and talented regional designers all descended for the sixth season of Fashion Forward Dubai.
Here's a selection of our favorite accessory and jewellery from FFD AW15/16:
NS By Noof – Shouq and Sheikha are not names of girls, but names this Bahraini designer gives to her die-for pieces of art which are encrusted in semi-precious stones and finished off with 22 karat gold. Perfect if you want an accessory that will get eyes rolling in your next dinner.
Rula Ghalayani – The Huffington Post fashion editor listed Ghalayani's signature Cuff collection as the "it" bag during Paris Fashion Week; Rula Ghalayini does not need an introduction and we cannot wait to get our hands on her clutches.
Bil Arabi – No artistic version of a language outdoes the beauty of Arabic calligraphy; accentuate this on statement jewellery pieces and you get Bil Arabi, the brainchild of Nadine Konso.
VikJethwani – If you loved magic as a kid, then you will just love their jewellery as a woman: a glittering diamond ring is turned into a brooch or a pendant depending on your mood.
Sarah’s Bag – Named as one of the top 42 eye catching clutches during NYC Fashion Week, with inspirations from pills like Panadol to table games like Tawle – Sarah’s bag not only focuses on getting the bags to the privileged but gives hope to the underprivileged.
At this season of Fashion Forward, the amount of creative fashion displayed per square metre of space would have made us believe that we could breathe fashion instead of oxygen, it is definitely an event not worth missing on the Dubai fashion calendar. Stay tuned for more coverage shortly.
