Another new trendy hotspot has joined Dubai’s burgeoning list of eateries. The celebrity favorite, French restaurant Sass Café, located in Monaco has landed in the food capital of the Middle East.
Located in one the non-descript towers at the financial district, the décor inside has more than just the wow-factor with its ornate black chandeliers to its beautifully crafted piano that sits in the centre of the room. Everything about its signature red and black interior is rich, elegant and stylish. Located on top floors downstairs is the bar and restaurant while upstairs is lounge-style seating an exclusive private dinning room with big glass windows.
The menu however, is all about showcasing the simple cuisine from the South of France that is heavily influenced by its Mediterranean neighbors. The food is filled with fresh ingredients and plenty of seafood. We began our meal with freshly made homemade crostini accompanied by a flavorful trio of olive tapenade, tomatoes drizzled in oil and chicken live pate.
The tuna carpaccio with orange and ginger was delicate and beautifully seasoned while the calamari was light and perfectly crispy.
In the mains the Wagyu Ribeye was cooked to perfection and the meat immediately melted in the mouth. The bright green char-grilled chillies along with a duo of sauces and roasted garlic and tomatoes added more depth and flavor to the dish.
The grilled fillet of sea bass was an exquisite piece of fish sitting above a lush tomato sauce and seasonal vegetables.
In desserts there is a mix of sweet delights to pick from but the Tiramisu is a firm house favorite. Served in a grand fashion the lusciously layered dessert is creamy and decadent but definitely worth every calorie!
Sass Café is located in Al Futtaim Exchange Tower, DIFC, Dubai, UAE.
