The second edition of Dubai Next will be launched at the Institut Du Monde Arabe (Arab World Institute) in Paris from September 26-28, 2013. The theme which is titled "Dubai Next: Faces of Tomorrow" revolves around Dubai's position as a creative hub, highlighting the exceptional works of Emirati and international artists. This exhibition also highlights the strong partnership between Dubai and Paris.
The exhibition is held under Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, he strongly believes that "Global collaboration, intercultural dialogue and fostering artistic talent are the central focus of Dubai Culture. The second edition of ‘Dubai Next’ underlines the vision of Dubai to draw on the strength of art as a commonality". The three-day program will include an art exhibition, film screenings, themed panel discussions, Q&A sessions along with mentoring sessions that prepare aspiring artists and film students.
Dubai Next' will feature the works of many renowned artists who include the Czech photographer Martin Becka and Brazilian Edgar Salmen. Along these two famous photographers are 6 brilliant Emirati artists who include graphic designer Alia Al Malik, Alia Hussain Lootah, Alia Zaal Lootah, Lateefa Bin Maktoum, Maitha Demithan and Mattar Bin Lahej. Audiences can also watch a cinematic collaboration between UAE and France through clips from Abdulla Al Kaabi's short film The Philosopher.
