This calls for many things! A welcoming meet & greet party, kindness, friendliness, and most important of all, a nickname. Or I may just skip the rest and find a catchy nickname so here it is: Plus G. She and the divas will know the meaning behind the nickname and it's all because of 'an act of kindness'. Anyways let me introduce you guys to each other. Readers, meet Plus G. Plus G, these are the readers who keep this column alive.
Good afternoon, my eraser heads, and welcome to another episode of Man Outnumbered. I have a lot to talk about so get that laptop, phone, or tablet, and your favorite cup of coffee and enjoy the next 510 words in this column.
I'm going to start by talking about my graduation from university because it's tomorrow. This week (outside the office) has been all about getting the gown (why do they call it gown? I think it sounds too feminine. You might as well call it a dress. I'd prefer robe or outfit), taking the class photo (which took an hour), and last but not least, the rehearsal. I'd really like to know who I'll be sitting next to during the long speeches and presentations until they finally call out my name. Maybe I should ask them to say 'Man Al-Outnumbered' instead of Adnan Al-Timimi? All I'm saying is I want to know whether I can flirt with the person next to me, have a pleasant conversation with them, or just sit there awkwardly silent for an hour or so.
Another occasion that calls for celebration is the fact that last week, June 3rd was my one year anniversary at Khaleejesque Magazine. Being a part of this magazine has been the greatest happening in my life other than Betsy (my car), losing weight, and paragliding in South Africa, so you know what time it is? SPEECH! First of all, I'd like to thank my mom for giving birth to me, Princess for doing that lovely presentation at university, and the rest of the divas, Captain, Critic, Sticker, F2, Braces, and last but not least, X-Grande Latte and her cat stories.
You know how in the past column write-ups I always mention how *sarcastic moment* lovely the weather is and how I'd want to sit outside and enjoy the sun with a piña colada? Well I can't really do that when all I experience is dust in my eyes, nose, and sometimes I can even taste tiny dust particles on my tongue – which let me tell you is NOT a pleasant feeling. The weather is just plain terrible but I have come to a conclusion of why we're experiencing winds of dust. I think it's because they're filming the new Transformers film. You know, robots fighting and cars drifting and so that's the only reason I can come up with. If any of you have a better reason, do share at adnan@khaleejesque.com
So with all this going on this week, there's a diva who hasn't been part of it all. F2 is somewhere in the world enjoying a cruise, delightful food, and is in a country where she doesn't speak the language, so when she comes back, it will be a good laugh talking about her experiences and hopefully there will be something embarrassing to REALLY laugh about.
The new issue will be done anytime now and get ready people because this is the best work the divas and I have done and the cover itself is as spectacular as X-Grande Latte's perfect face (which by the way can be fitted with any pair of sunglasses – a fact she humbly shared with us) so stay tuned for the official announcement on our Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook accounts.
Take care, eraser heads, and thank you in advance for congratulating me on my graduation in the comment box below.
