The search for the fittest man and woman on earth officially begins tomorrow March 6th, 2013 with the Reebok CrossFit Games season. The international fitness test, which is open to people of all countries, is comprised of three stages: Open, Regionals, and the world championship CrossFit Games.
The season starts with the Open, a competition that consists of five workouts over the course of five weeks. The Open stage will take place from March 6th to April 3rd, 2013. Participating athletes from all over the world can either compete at a CrossFit affiliate, whether it's a gym or health club, or submit a video of their performance to the official Reebok CrossFit Games website.
The chosen fittest 60 men, 60 women, and 30 teams from each of the 17 regions will then move onto the Regionals. The Regionals, which will take place between May 17 and June 9, is a three-day competition that takes place in 17 different regions. Individuals in each region compete head-to-head with judges. Only three men and three women from the entire Regionals stage will make it through to the final round.
The final stage of the competition, the CrossFit Games, from July 22 to July 28, is where the Fittest on Earth™ (man and woman) will be declared.
