Taking place from Jan 22-26, 2013 is one of the region's biggest celebrations of comedy: the Dubai International Comedy Carnival, part of the Dubai Shopping Festival.
Celebrating comedy from around the world in both English and Arabic, the carnival will host international comedians including Aron Kader, Bader Saleh, Nemr Abou Nassar, Dean Obeidallah, Amro Qatamesh winner of Arabs Got Talent, Ali Al Sayed and Mina Liccione of Dubomedy, and Hollywood actor Michael Winslow of Police Academy.
The opening ceremony will be held on Tuesday, January 22 at 8 PM featuring a performance by Emirati soul singer Hamdan Al Abri, alongside live music, free celebrity show ticket giveaways.
The carnival will be comprised of two stages: Main Event Stage and Community Carnival Stage, both with non-stop entertainment and activities such as musical performances, children's circus workshops, Irish dancers, magic shows, movie screenings, music competitions, and more.
