Social action can create a better community and an incident in a Russian city proved how the local media can force politicians to do their work.

URA.RU is a website in Russia that writes about life in the city including the citizens' problems. An interesting thing happened in the city of Yekaterinburg in Russia when the citizens started complaining to the politicians about the quality of the roads in the city and the problems with the holes around the potholes.

After several complaints about the issue and with no response from the politicians, a group of artists decided to draw the faces of the governor, mayor and the vice-mayor around the potholes. When the images were painted, the story got heavy media from the press and social networks. The next day, they were painted over to cover the faces and eventually the holes got fixed! Now who said public humiliation isn't constructive?
