For Khaleejesque’s second print issue, “The Art & Design Issue,” it seemed only necessary to feature a fashion editorial that celebrated art, in its many forms. Hence, the addition of one of the magazine's most beautiful editorials to date: "A Dash of Opulence."
Photographed by the talented Djinane Al Suwayeh, the editorial was directed by Khaleejesque's Alya Al-Othman and Fouz Al-Sabah, and styled by the creative Dalal Al Subaie and featured designs by local and international independent designers. The opulence was courtesy of the decadent accessories and jewelry from Melange boutique, the beauty styling by Lashes Beauty Salon, as well as the divine backdrops.
Shot on location at Samovar Carpets and Antiques in Kuwait (Tilal Mall, Industrial Shuwaikh), the editorial features backdrops of unique and gorgeous tapestries and carpets, many of which were handmade and took a couple of years to make. The team wanted to blend fashion with art, and so chose designs that complemented and blended with the backdrops, yet also came alive once caught on camera.
As you can see, the images are nothing short of stunning and captivating, if we may say so ourselves! What better way to salute art, than with a melange of color, design and flair..
