The smartphone market is quite competitive and Samsung's new contender has officially cemented itself as the phone to beat in the industry today. The official launch of the third generation of Galaxy S, the Galaxy S III, in Kuwait was on June 7, 2012. Samsung's latest smartphone has options like never before, including a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display that provides an incredible viewing experience.
The Galaxy S III is powered by Android 4.0 with an 8MP camera and a 1.9MP front camera with face recognition options. When I first held the phone, I felt it was too big for my palm, but I quickly got used to it as I went through the applications and such. What attracted me the most are the vibrant colors of the screen, they were extremely vivid and everything looked so clear.
In addition, there are various unique features to the phone. One of them, for example, is if you're messaging someone and decide to call them instead, you can simply put the phone against your ear and it will directly call that person's number. Another interesting option is that the phone will notify you when you have any missed calls or messages by vibrating when it is picked up after being idle. There is also the 'Pop Up Play" feature that allows you to play a video anywhere on your screen while running other tasks.
What I personally find as the most exciting feature is that users can connect their Galaxy S III to their television and transfer its contents onto a larger display. Another thing I loved is that the phone is extremely light in comparison to its size -it's not as heavy as it looks.
The Samsung Galaxy S III is currently available in leading retail stores across Kuwait for 189 KD.
