On Wednesday 14th March 2012, NET-A-PORTER Group announced that Lucy Yeomans, the award winning Editor in Chief of Harper's Bazaar UK, will be the new, and first, Editor-in-Chief of NET-A-PORTER.COM.
Yeomans, who worked at Hearst – Harper's Bazaar UK's publisher – for 12 years, became one of the leading editors in the fashion magazine industry after she increased the magazine's circulation through creative efforts and brilliant artistic and fashionable collaborations.
In her new role at NET-A-PORTER, Yeomans aims to bridge and solidify the relationship between e-commerce and fashion publications, more specifically, to be at the helm of NET-A-PORTER's growing foray into the fashion magazine industry.
"I am thrilled to be joining the team at NET-A-PORTER, after twelve years at the helm of HARPER'S BAZAAR.. The media landscape is evolving radically and NET-A-PORTER has a global readership of over 3.5 million women who demand the very best edit of luxury fashion worldwide. NET-A-PORTER has redefined the way women read about and consume fashion. I am looking forward to working with some of the very best talent in the industry and to creating truly inspiring content.." said Yeomans.
NET-A-PORTER.COM's weekly online magazine has garnered quite a cult following, due to its exceptional quality, high fashion appeal and informative features. The magazine has featured interviews with a number of leading fashion designers, fashion editors as well as industry favorites. Not to mention Vogue-worthy fashion editorials. All the while integrating the site's products into their stories.
While this at first might sound like a very in-your-face PR stunt, it is in fact, quite the opposite. The magazine is easy to browse, attractive to look at, and contains a number of informative features. There is an iPad Magazine App that just contains archives of all the past and present issues.
NET-A-PORTER has publicly announced its interest to house a leading global fashion publication. And I, for one, cannot wait to see what this magazine will have to offer.
