Bahrain is celebrating being the Arab culture capital of the year in ways that are surely impressive. Taking part in the festivities, Al Riwaq Art Space and the Block 338 community present a grand cultural and artistic collaboration, a community event will last for four weeks starting from March 29. Featuring events that will attract people of all ages, the activities are distributed in four different venues covering four different artistic expressions.
A contemporary art exhibition titled “I am the Other” will start the event on March 26 and will take place in the abandoned Bohemia restaurant building in the 338 district. The following weeks will be including both music and film weekends along with the 4 week program ending with a grand finale.
One of the cornerstones of the event is the overlooked square near Monsoon Restaurant, a stage will be created to accommodate the outdoor music and film events. These events will be running for four back to back weekends so look forward to interesting plans for the weekends.
Not to miss out on an educational spin, Al Riwaq Art Space will be hosting a series of workshops and exhibitions for Bahraini artists and a documentation of the entire event will be showcased in Al Riwaq in a relation with the “I am the Other” exhibition. And for the food fans, they'll be excited to know that in collaboration with restaurants from the 338 area the block will be transformed into a center for art and music and the restaurants will also host their own exclusive events and special menus for the duration of this event.
