Roshini Shewakraman, a mother of two with prior experience in the fashion industry noticed that therewas a gap in the Dubai consumer market when it comes to stylish maternity wear and kids clothing and accessories; an observation that launched the idea of Smitten Boutique.
Retailing out of Dubai Marina Mall, Smitten offers a wide range of diverse international and local designers. Most of the clothing lines available are by famous designers who are favored by celebrities around the world.
Beautifully decorated in a fun and whimsical style, the store immediately pulls you in with its rows of clothing and shelves full of exquisite jewelry for both mothers and daughters. Toys and books placed on the shelves can keep the children busy as the adults shop.
The maternity section is definitely worth browsing through with trendy, chic designs for the expectant mothers. Unlike most maternity stores, Smitten has sourced clothes that are on trend and comfortable. Dismissing the myth that pregnancy clothes are shapeless and baggy, Smitten carries a fabulous range of both casual and formal items including designers like Cecile Reinaud who founded her maternity clothing line Seraphine, eight years ago and has a boutique in Kensington, London.
A wide range of clothes for babies and children have been handpicked and brought in from around the globe, including the ‘Romeo and Juliet’ line consisting of the signature television series, Gossip Girl style of fancy, playful and preppy.
