Award-winning Emirati author Qais Sedki, creator of graphic novel “Gold Ring”, a fusion of Japanese manga illustration and classical Arabic content, is launching his second novel, "Gold Ring 2" illustrated by manga duo Akira Himekawa and attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the most books signed in 24 hours. The current world record for most books signed by one author in a single session is 1,951 books.
The event will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Kinokuniya Bookstore in Dubai Mall where Sedki will sign copies of his newly released novel. "The comic style art form of manga has a huge global following, and it is very exciting to think that Gold Ring has earned a place in history as the first Arabic manga novel," says Sedki.
Sedki has pledged to donate 15 percent of all sales of his book during the record attempt to Dubai Cares, the UAE-based organization that works to provide children in developing countries with access to quality primary education.
The event will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, 1st March 2012 at the Kinokuniya Bookstore, Upper Level, Dubai Mall.
