On Sunday December 11th,2011, Katara celebrated the Grand Opening of the Amphitheatre with a live performance by world renowned Greek Composer, Vangelis. The award-winning composer, known for his iconic musical score for the film Chariots of Fire, is considered one of the best electronic music composers of all time.
Romanian architecture and Arab Islamic art meet in Katara Cultural Village's beautiful open-air amphitheater. The amphitheater fits up to 5000 people and is considered the biggest in the Middle East.
