Bananas taste great in cakes, and dates are just purely delicious. Why not combine these two great flavors and produce delish banana and date bread!
This banana and date bread recipe produces deliciously soft and delectable bread. The flavors truly compliment each other and offer a great balance of flavors. It will go superbly with your daily coffee or tea break. Makes 2 loafs.
Ingredients
120g pitted dates
300g of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
125g of unsalted butter, room temperature, plus extra for greasing
200g caster sugar
2 eggs
3 bananas, mashed
100ml milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat the oven to 175 C, and butter the tins that are being used.
Begin by sifting the dry ingredients and setting them aside.
Mix the butter and sugar in a mixer until combined and then break the eggs into the mixture and mix.
Drizzle in the vanilla and follow with the Bananas and dates, continue mixing until combined and then start adding the flour mixture and milk in two turns.
Mix until just combined and pour the batter into the tins.
Bake for around 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the bread comes out clean.
Allow to cool on a rack then slice and serve!
