Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah celebrated the end of its 16th cultural season by hosting a reception at the Amricani Cultural Centre for Friends and Sponsors of DAI as well as distinguished guests on Tuesday May 30th, 2011.
Director General Sheikha Hussah Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah received guests as they entered the recently renovated Amricani (which was once the American Hospital in the 1930s). Visitors entered the former courtyard, now the auditorium, to enjoy live music before making their way to the upstairs gallery that housed the "Treasury of the World: Jewelled Arts of India in the Age of the Mughals." DAI's internationally renowned exhibition was exclusively open to guests as the highlight of the evening.
