Dubai has a coffee shop on almost every corner, and more often than not, several next to each other. These chains have loyal customers and are successful businesses, but genuine coffee connoisseurs are critical about the quality and taste of the coffee they buy. Finding coffee is not difficult here but finding gourmet, organic, ethically sourced coffee is definitely a challenge.
Here's where RAW Coffee, comes in. RAW Coffee Company is a unique boutique brand that was set up a few years ago in Dubai. Their imported beans come from fourteen different origins and are roasted in Dubai. The socially conscious coffee house produces 100 % organic and Fair Trade coffee.
You can choose from different blends with quirky names like Nude, Casual, Working and Tailored. ‘Nude’ being decaffeinated and the mildest and ‘Tailored’ the strongest and most acidic. There is something for all taste buds, from warm and fruity, to rich and earthy. The raw green beans are roasted by hand in their Dubai establishment and then mixed together to create the various blends available for sale. They are all reasonably priced at approximately Dhs 30 for 200 grams and can also be grinded upon request.
Raw Coffee provides home delivery options, but a trip to their café in Dubai Garden Centre is highly recommended. Tucked away in the corner, the aroma of the freshly brewed coffee will definitely lead you there. It is a bright, cozy space with two large, wooden communal benches. If you are lucky Raja Muthusamy, the UAE Barista Champion, may just serve you.
