Loro Piana, the Italian company renowned for their high-end luxury wool and cashmere, has landed in Dubai and unveiled The Gift of Kings and The Record Bale for The Noblest of Wools in Dubai Opera Garden. Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Lateefa bint Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Founder and Director of Tashkeel, the stunning installation was created to showcase the quality and uniqueness of Loro Piana’s wools and provided guests the experience of touching and feeling the exquisite materials for themselves.
Each installation was crafted uniquely showing the different ways wool can take shape which gave us a chance to feel their texture and understand each ones origin. Surprisingly, the material was used throughout the entire installation with even the seating area, which consisted of light-weight swings dotted across the space. The installation showcased the finest thread ever made which was a record breaking 10.3 microns in diameter, finer than most cashmere.
The Loro Piana team also teamed up with a local creative for their debut in Dubai. The Dubai Opera Garden was transformed from the outside by the talented El Seed, famous for his work with Arabic calligraphy the venue was covered completely with a light fabric printed with words by a poem written by Alfonso X, ruler of thirteenth-century Spain. El Seed being a previous guest from Tashkeel, with a two-year residency, was the perfect choice to create such art that combined a mix of modern and tradition for the event and definitely adding a Khaleeji flavor.
Loro Piana created The World Record Bale to reward and motivate woolgrowers from New Zealand and Australia to continue to perfecting their wool and aspire to get better each year. The record goes to the finest wool produced each year and every so often the record would be broken. Loro Piana works closely with the breeders and supports them entirely together creating the finest wool in the world. These wools would later be used to create the softest clothing items ever created.
The luxury store, located in Dubai Mall, has outerwear for both men and women with the most spectacular quality in clothing. The suits made entirely of the wool, has the softest touch ever made. The ladieswear consists of beautiful handmade dresses with unique prints and of course wool made clothing and accessories.
