The Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre, one of the world's largest cultural developments, is looking for artists to join its new Artist in Residency Program in Kuwait. Artist in residence programs invite artists into a space that is different from their usual environment for a designated time. They play a vital role in facilitating artists' abilities to move around the world, building bridges between countries and cultures, as well as allowing artists to focus on developing their work.
The residency is open to Kuwaiti, regional, and international artists.
For more information visit the ASCCAIR website, Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook page.
Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre consists of 4 museums: Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Space Museum, and Arabic and Islamic Science Museum. It also hosts a Fine Arts Centre, a Theatre, and a public space that includes outdoor exhibits, as well as cafés and restaurants.

Dear Sheikh ,
I am an artist from India. I was born in Kuwait and left when I was three years old after a tragic car accident.
I have travelled with my exhibitions around some countries. Int soul would find happiness if I could again be in Kuwait with my art, I have been looking for a residency opportunity.
I have a very unique form of art, never exhibited anywhere in Kuwait before. I would like to bring this art to my birth country.

Mixed media and Installation Artist, Mr. Ike hails from Nsukka, Nigeria where he is a teacher of Visual Art at the University of Nigeria High School. He explores the aesthetic, symbolic and metaphoric nature of paper, plant fibre and other discarded objects. His recent work is inspired by such natural resources as Musaceae fibre and paper from books leaves that he produces in paintings and installation knots in mass amounts and connects together laboriously into Afro Centric pieces referencing the issues underpinning slave trade, colonial affluence and the imbalance in political relations between Africa and the West, reflecting on ancestral connection of times through trauma.
I'd like to be part of the Artist Residency in Kuwait, it would be my pleasure. I look forward to a positive response, so I may forward images and Proposal to your email..
Peace.
