Whether it's one design or 20, showcase your creativity on a monthly planner with The Yard.
The Yard, a design concept store based in Kuwait, recently initiated its annual collaborative project ‘Designer Planner’ that will see 12 young designers selected to be featured on monthly planners in 2017. After the project’s continuous success over the past years, it returns this year with a different theme titled ‘Nostalgi-Arabia,’ which reflects on culture in the Middle East, and the Arab region during the 80’s and 90’s.
A brief is placed, and 12 final designs will be selected and added to the collection. For designers wishing to submit their work, the designs should represent the theme using limited colors of black and one additional Pantone color of the designer’s choice. The artwork requirements are fluid, varying from illustrations to graphics, from typography and pattern to characters and graffiti. The Yard’s goal is to encourage local talent and establish the Arab identity through simple designs.
The deadline for submissions is Saturday, August 6th, 2016.
