World-renowned architect Zaha Hadid has yet another brilliant and innovative design structure under her name. Her latest work is a mind-blowing, modern wonder located in Dubai, a bustling city in the United Arab Emirates. A commercial and retail development this project is part of the leading UAE-based property developers, Omniyat Properties.
The futuristic styled Opus Tower will be located in the heart of the city, at Business Bay an area famous for its buildings and prime location overlooking the world’s tallest tower, Burj Khalifa and the world’s biggest mall, The Dubai Mall and of course quick access to Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the booming financial centre.
This unique monolithic, 21-story and 84,345 square-meter structure has an extremely modern fluid shape that is definitely indicative of the expertise and knowledge of Hadid one of the leading architects in the world.
Zaha Hadid says, “This is a building that challenges traditional concepts of office space. Not only will it be visually stunning, it will also be a workable space, and a place that allows every occupant to experience a better quality working environment, using the very latest technological advances.”
“The Opus is a striking, fluid spatial building that refutes traditional definitions of office functionality. All facets of the project have been meticulously designed to provide optimal use of the space, with materials sourced to provide durability, efficiency, operation and maintenance whilst reducing noise to sustain privacy, “ Hadid adds.
A definite engineering masterpiece the hotel and office tower are both conceived as a single cube eroded by a free-form void that hovers in the centre, above ground level. An artistic wonder, the reflective facade has light flooding through the cube by day. The two volumes have been connected by a base surrounded by a corridor that flows through its four sides, providing a wide pedestrian area. The bottom floor has been designed as an open commercial space.
An extraordinary work of design and art, Opus Tower tower will be completed in 2016.
