Convertibles haven't really been Jaguar's 'cup of tea'. When you want a hard or soft top convertible, you usually opt for something with sharper curves, a lavish interior and probably Italian. Jaguar only seemed interested in creating 4-door salons that your parents would drive. They did, however, create the XK series, which although successful, still lacked that wonderful convertible feel that you'd get with a 458 Spider or a Bentley Continental. Will we only witness more and more 4-door Jaguars that beg to be driven properly or will Jaguar surprise us?
Much to our happiness, it's the latter.
Meet the new F-Type. Fast. Fabulous. Flourishing. This 2-door roadster from Coventry, England comes in three versions, the standard 3.0L V6 that goes from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds with a top speed of 259 km/h, the other 3.0L F-Type S V6 with a top speed of 275 km/h which can travel to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. But the monstrous F-Type S V8 which has a supercharged engine which makes its top speed 300 km/h, all powered by 495 hp. All three have an all-aluminum chassis, active sport exhaust, and beautiful interior.
