Don't worry, I'm not leaving Khaleejesque. Remember the invitation to stay at a hotel in Bahrain that I mentioned in my column last week? Yes, that one. I'm going to test it out this weekend. Can't wait for the 60-minute massage and spa session (yes, guys can do that too). Hopefully I can get some tanning done too, or is it too early for that?
Time for the weekly stories.
First of all, I was so thoughtful to get each one of the divas a rose and chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day and I'm happy they loved them! Luckily, all of them showed up except for Braces but that's not new. She did thank me later though. F2 baked me the most divine cupcakes ever and sadly I had to share some with my family but honestly, the BEST cupcakes I've ever tasted! Thank you F2!
We just found out, from the person herself, that X-Grande Latte is now officially a crazy cat lady. With so many scratches on her hands, I think she should name her cat Wolverine. Fits perfectly. One more thing, X-Grande Latte is back with her stories of flight experiences, which really isn't the thing you want to hear days before your flight. Maybe this time, I'll have my seatbelt on throughout the whole flight, learn how to parachute, and work on my swimming.
In more work-related news, I went to The Blackberry Z10 event last week and even though it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be, the design of the whole place was pretty nice; there was good seating, live music, delicious food and drink but the presentation itself could've been way better. I did, however, appreciate the various booths with Blackberry employees showing demos of the new Z10 as well as all the features in it. I did leave the event with the new Z10 as a gift from the event and I must say, it is a pretty efficient smartphone (even though there is no Instagram and Whatsapp which might render it pretty useless to some folks in the GCC).
There is a new face at the office, Unique and you can probably guess the gender of Unique. She seems nice, is a hard working intern but it could be more convenient if she would drop by more often. Maybe it's a 'new-intern' thing, you know? Come one day, skip two, come back the rest, and keep that as the routine. (Update: It's now Wednesday and she's here!)
I'm really looking forward to the trip to Bahrain. Lunch with the marketing executive of the hotel, access to the spa, trying out different cuisines and other entities which I tend to keep to myself. I could really use this break because even if you're working with 7 angels, you can still get stressed. I was also kind enough to bring along a friend rather than keeping all the fancy stuff to me. Plus, I need to take photos and he's really handy with a camera.
I have a surprise for all of you, including you divas of Khaleejesque, for next week's column where I'll also be posting pictures of my trip to Bahrain so stay tuned!
Till then my dumplings!
