Jewels by Sogol, a sparkling regional brand that is beginning to shine abroad, is the brain child of Sogol Zabihi. A jewelry brand that is bright, on trend and has a Middle Eastern twist, Jewels by Sogol has successfully attained a huge customer base and is currently stocked in key regional retail establishments. Khaleejesque got a chance to interview the Creative Designer behind this beautiful brand and discussed the brand's identity, outlook and future.
How did Jewels by Sogol first come about?
Back in 2006, I had traveled to South of France and had gotten inspired by the beautiful jewelry designs. The Jewelry designs where so lavishly made that I had to share the inspiration with other women. Designing jewelry over the past six years has allowed me to gain further experience in this field and learn to identify the different preferences of women; using those techniques, I am able to design the jewelry in such a way that meets all sorts of fashionable tastes.
What inspires your collections?
For every collection, I try to include new and fresh designs- in order to meet all kinds of fashion tastes. I usually incorporate traditional Middle Eastern art as it adds a sense of royal luxury to each piece. I also really love bright colors which gives each item a fresh yet elegant look. Together, this brings uniqueness to my designs, which in turn gives women who don them a fashion edge.
We know you retail your collection in the likes of Harvey Nichols, and Bloomingdales regionally, something that is outstanding and is fair acclaim of your marvelous designs, do you stock abroad as well?
There have been a lot of inquires from Europe and the US regarding the items, which I am currently looking to find the perfect boutique for Jewels By Sogol. I also receive quite a lot of international private requests through the brand's website.
Any advice for fashionistas when it comes to accessorizing?
A lady’s look is never complete without accessories. Adding jewelry can change an outfit drastically. You could be wearing jeans and a white top (day look) but by simply throwing on a chunky gold necklace, you can take that same look from day to night.
To some women jewelry seems an insignificant part of an outfit, but in fact it is these small details that are most critical in making a great fashion statement. This is why I have always been so passionate about jewelry.
What's next for Jewels by Sogol?
I am constantly working on a new collection, and this time i am trying to expand Jewels By Sogol into other markets and build on that.
