On Saturday July 30, Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip, a premiere bakery and dessert bar opened the doors of its first Kuwaiti restaurant, at the newly established food strip, The Village, in Abu Al Hasaniya.

The Khaleejesque team was invited to visit the new eatery and sample a selection of fresh-baked desserts, Nescafe premium coffees and drinks and other items from the menu.

Everything we tried was amazingly delicious. We started with the brownies, which were fresh and moist, especially the Oreo brownie, and then sampled the famous Nestlé Toll House cookies in both peanut butter and dark chocolate. We also loved the chocolate filled cookie cups, which are cookies shaped like a cup and filled with different fillings like ice cream or chocolate sauce.

We were then served ice cream, which they source from Movenpick. We tried the caramel and strawberry flavors; both tasty and fresh.

To top it off, we had glasses of refreshing ice tea, which come in a number of fruit infused flavors. Some of the other sweets and drinks that we didn't sample, but look equally delicious are the frozen yogurt and ice blended coffee drinks.

For the soft opening, we were served desserts only, but the menu also encompasses savory items like sandwiches and salads.

Overall, the food was of high quality, fresh and very well presented. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was inviting. The café is very well equipped with high tech coffee machines and smart ovens. The interior is nice and cozy, a tad small, but during cooler temperatures, there is an additional seating area outdoor.

"We are very happy about the first café opening in Kuwait and the second opening for our company. Our customers in Kuwait can now enjoy a new dessert experience. The second café in Kuwait is planned to open in late December 2011." says Sulaiman Al Wazzan, Chairman of Royal Food Services, franchisee of Nestle Toll House Café by Chip.

Overall, it was a pleasurable experience, one that we definitely look forward to repeating. We highly rate this new place and recommend visiting the restaurant.

Nestlé Toll House Café is located at The Village, Abu Alhasaniya, Fahaheel Road, Exit 208.

Ramadan working hours are from 8pm – 2am

The grand opening will take place on September 15, 2011.
