Dubai Fashion Week started on the 24th of October and lasted till the 28th. It took place at the Asateer tent located in Atlantis where Emirati designers and other designers from the region showcased their Spring Summer 2011 collections.

Dubai is known for its beauty and multi-ethnic residents. Dubai Fashion Week presented a breathtaking mixture of local and international talents in the fashion world.

Dubai Fashion Week kick started with no other than the very talented designer Mona Fares and her very bright collection “Neon Edge” which wowed the audience. The collection included womenswear, menswear, cute little outfits for children, and funky Burqas.

Next was Dar Waad Design who presented a collection of flowy and colorful abayas. Day 1 also included Pakistani designer Sobia Nazir’s SS11 collection which captured the beauty of traditional Pakistani dresses with beautiful floral prints, chiffons, and embroidery.

The last two designers of the evening were Emirati designer Lamya Abedin and Lebanese atelier Dar Sara. Lamya show cased her “Queen of Spades” collection of Abayas that were inspired by the Japanese kimono and Cherry Blossom theme.

Dar Sara High Fashion SS11 collection comprised of beautiful evening dresses and a breath taking collection of wedding dresses.
