On Monday, 6th of August, 2012, furniture and home accessories designer Bibi AlGhanim opened the doors of her first boutique, Maze, at Phase II of 52 Degrees. The event welcomed friends, family and fans of the evergrowing lifestyle brand.

On this occassion, the designer also introduced her new collection titled “Mid Marvels”, a line of contemporary furniture mixed with traditional textiles from the Middle East region, a signature touch that Maze is known for.

Previously, Maze held a corner at 52 Degrees, featuring many items from the brand, but after a successful two years of showing at the popular Kuwaiti multi-store, and a fanbase that spans farther than the Gulf region, it was time for the brand to expand into a boutique.

Maze, meaning table in the Kuwaiti dialect, was established by Bibi Abdullah AlGhanim a little more than 5 years ago, after the designer decided she needed to channel her creativity and passion into something she knew well: furniture.

AlGhanim first started designing her own ottomans and cushions, and later on expanded her talents and began reviving old furniture and turning it into lust-worthy pieces. She soon began creating custom furniture that is handmade by regional artisans who are masters in their field.

Maze now includes several collections, each with its own style; everything from fabric to embroidery to the color palette is created to match the collection's essence.
