Don’t miss out on the fun and excitement of the Abu Dhabi Film festival which will take place from the 13-22 of October. “Creating an inspiring environment for audiences and filmmakers from all over the world” is what the festival acquires to achieve. It was established in 2007 and presented each October by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage. Under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nayhyan, the film festival’s aim was to create film culture throughout the district and to inspire filmmakers to help grow the film industry. By presenting Arab filmmakers alongside the major films of world cinema, Arabs are encouraged to participate in the event which reveals new talents in the Arab world.

The festival includes more than 200 films from 43 countries. ADFF goes for the first time “On Location” at the Marina Mall with prize draws and red carpet excitement alongside with activities from October 7 to 22. The board of directors include H.E Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nayan, H.E Mohammed Khalaf Al-Mazrouei, Eissa Saif Rashed Al Mazrouei, Peter Scarlet, Abdulla Al Amiri and Nashwa Al Ruwaini.

For the first time, film screenings will be offered each evening at a new outdoor location! Tickets are sold through their website www.adff.ae starting from September 28. Beginning October 3 they will be available at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr and VOX Cinemas Box Offices. Elite passes (AED 2,500), are also available, which allows exclusives access to their holder. As for people who still weren’t able to get a ticket, the staff will look out for open seats in the theater, and whoever is waiting can be seated as a first-come, first served rule.
